Key properties

Key properties
Tensile strength ~193-290 MPa (H32/H34 tempers)
Excellent salt-water corrosion resistance
Excellent formability and weldability
Density ~2.68 g/cm³
Fatigue strength ~110-117 MPa
Lower strength than 6061/7075 (not heat treatable)

Common applications

  • Marine and coastal enclosures
  • Fuel tanks and pressure vessels
  • Sheet-metal housings and covers
  • Food-processing equipment
  • Boat hull parts and fittings
  • Drawn and formed components

Processes available

  • Sheet metal fabrication (laser cut + bending)
  • CNC milling
  • CNC turning
  • Welding and assembly

Surface finishes

  • As machined
  • Bead blasted
  • Anodized (decorative)
  • Powder coated
  • Brushed

Cost & pricing

Priced close to 6061 — economical for corrosion-critical sheet parts where 6061 would over-spec strength.

Tolerance: CNC ±0.1mm; laser-cut sheet ±0.1-0.2mm; bend features ±0.2-0.3mm.

Frequently asked questions

5052 or 6061 for my part?
5052 for formed sheet, welded and marine-corrosion parts; 6061 when machined strength and hardness matter more.
Can 5052 be anodized?
Yes, but it anodizes in a slightly yellow-gray tone — use clear anodize for appearance parts or pick 6061 for darker dyed finishes.

Frequently asked questions

How long does production take?

Lead time depends on the process and quantity — 3D printing typically ships in 2–3 business days, CNC machining in 3–5, and injection molding in 10–15 after tooling. You'll see the exact lead time on every quote.

What is the standard tolerance?

CNC-machined parts are held to ±0.1 mm as standard, with ±0.05 mm achievable on critical features. 3D-printed parts are typically ±0.2–0.3 mm. Add your critical dimensions in the notes field.

What is the minimum order quantity?

There is no minimum order — we produce single prototype parts as easily as large production runs. Quantity discounts start from around 10–25 pieces.

What surface finishes are available?

A wide range of finishes is available locally, including as-machined/printed, bead blasting, anodizing (clear, black, gold), powder coating, painting and polishing.
